    Description

This is an exceedingly rare volume published on the Bus Industry and Mass Transportation in 1936, "Profitable Bus Operation and Maintenance", with Foreword by Carl W. Stocks and Copyright to Bus Transportation in New York at 330 West 42nd Street. There are sections on Operation and Traffic, Maintenance, Round Table, Consulting Department, and Specifications, plus Index at the rear of the volume.
The book is soft bound in mottled card stock burnt orange covers, 192 pages in all with dozens of black and white photo illustrations and drawings interspersed with the text throughout. A wide variety of articles on all things related to the buses of the era, including pieces on Cold Weather Operation, School Buses, Tires to Buy or Rent, Propane and Butane, Baggage, Training of Drivers, Modern Tankers, Benches, Painting, Shop and Mechanical Ideas, and much more besides.
It measures approximately 8 1/4" by 11" overall, and is in generally very good condition throughout, with original sewn binding holding very snug and pages still very clean and supple. There is some minor edge wear and corner bumping to the covers, and a couple of small areas of scuffing and nicking to tiny areas of same, but overall very fine as it was kept for several decades in an artist's morgue file for reference purposes so very little handled whatsoever.
