This is a listing for a brand new Mike Adapter for an ICOM type radio. It is for the 8 pin ICOM Radios only. I personally assemble and test this item!
Icom makes many radios with varying first stage mic gain so you MAY have to crank your gain up when using any non-Icom mic with your radio.
This is because many Icom radios are supplied with condenser type mics and use radio power up the audio line to allow them to function. This adapter has a 1 micro-farad non-polar capacitor in series with the audio line to protect both your radio and your microphone from damage while still allowing full mic audio to get to your radio with no frequency roll-off.
This adapter will allow that Cobra/Uniden/Galaxy/Yaesu 4 pin microphone to function with it. PTT, Audio & Ground is routed to the correct pins for an Icom radio. Your transmitted audio will be directly related to the microphone you use with it. Your results will vary depending on what microphone you use with this or any adapter made for an Icom radio.
This WILL NOT work on a YAESU or KENWOOD. They look alike but are wired differently!
Use your mike on all your radios, no need to re-wire your mike every time you want to use it on a ICOM radio.
