ANTIQUE SHEFFIELD SILVERPLATE SAMOVAR/HOT BEVERAGE URN
From the collection of a prominent New York Cuty financier. A very impressive antique Sheffield silverplate samovar/hot beverage urn. Four legs in form of tapering columns, tapering to claw feet, supporting a cannonball like urn. The urn measures approximately 16" tall, 8" at its widest diameter. The base is approximately 7 1/2" square. The depth from the front of the spigot to the back of the urn is approximately 12". The weight of the urn is about 4 1/4 Lbs. Overall condition is very good. The bone detail on the spigot handle is cracked and half is missing. There are a few dings around the central borders of the urn these appear to be from when the piece was created and the two halves joined together. There are a few dings along the very bottom edge of the base. The handle on the spigot appears to be in good working order but it has not been tested with liquid. The lid fits snuggly. No loss of plating was observed. Etched on the bottom 02806.
