Keokuk Geodes
With Rock & Gem shows being cancelled again this year due to the virus, I am giving in and selling my racquetball sized Keokuk geodes online, instead of cracking them in person as I prefer to do at shows to see the amazement of the discovery of what-is-inside!  These geodes were extracted from Mississippian-aged Warsaw Formation exposures in different locations in the tri-state are of Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa. Some will be hollow, some will be solid, so that is why I am including 5 nicely hollow, opened geodes as well.  The hollow geodes will have crystals of quartz and/or calcite inside.  Dolomite, pyrite, marcasite, sphalerite, kaolinite, goethite, barite, selenite gypsum, and hematite and water are possible finds inside as well.  It is all about the discovery of what is inside these fascinating sedimentary geologic formations.  They are best cracked with a cast iron pipe cutter, as hitting them with a hammer most always lead to more than 2 pieces.  Good luck & thank you for your support.
