    Description

Marked "C. Bard & Son," Conrad Bard was a silversmith from Philadelphia. He was active 1825
through 1854. He worked with his son a very short while in 1850.
This teapot is a good example of repousse.. The engraving is excellent all around. Has a monogrammed letter H?.
This teapot is from the coin silver era, .900 fine This teapot took a skilled worker two months to make starting with 35oz (troy) coins; itself a month's wages. The teapot is water tight and with care will always be.
All around fantastic condition with very sound hinge and handle.
One foot seems to be curved a little bit, but good Overall condition.
