This deep purple Uruguayan Geode is the best you will find. It is rated Super Extra Premium quality by the mine.
Their very highest quality and most expensive of all their product.
The only thing better is the very rare find, museum quality which accounts for less than 1 tenth of one percent of all production.
Anyone can list a grade but we take out any personal bias by using the mines classifications. Look and compare and you will see the difference across the board.
Beautiful  piece with deep dark purple medium size crystals. Rated Super Extra Premium. The piece is trimmed to reduce weight with the edge surface finished and polished. The back is ground to reduce weight and give it a clean look.
This 3.25 lb. high quality piece measures 4" high x 4.5" wide and 4 inches deep. There is no cement, 100% natural.
We sell the very finest Uruguayan Amethyst mined. Hand selected from what is recognized in Uruguay as the mine producing the overall best quality amethyst in color and crystal formation.
It is always advisable to buy the highest quality possible. There is much less of the SEP found, less than 5% of all mined.  Besides being beautiful, it can be an investment as prices of amethyst across the board have gone up with the very best going up faster, over 50% in the past few years.
We only buy the highest classification, the finest quality finished pieces. In addition to polishing, the pieces are milled to maximize appearance with no protruding edges resulting an average of 30% less weight than the unfinished pieces. Unfinished pieces from the companies on the average cost 40% less for similar quality pieces and the best quality are almost exclusively finished. When comparing, even though the unfinished pieces may appear cheaper, in fact they could end up costing more per pound, without the quality and appearance.
