Beautiful polished birds eye malachite round dish with brass rim imported from Republic of Congo. Birds-eye malachite is the most valuable and prettiest form of malachite.
You will receive one round dish from the lot shown in the photos that is 5 inch to 5 1/2 inch round by 1 1/4 inch deep and weighs 6 to 9 ounces.. These are all very high quality and while the pattern is very different from one dish to the next, they are all beautiful.

MINERAL DESCRIPTION
Malachite is a famous and very popular semi-precious stone. It is named for the Greek word for mallow, a green herb. Its banded light and dark green designs are one-of-a-kind, and give it a unique ornamental quality unlike that of any other stone. The light and dark green bands are so distinctive that malachite maybe one of the most easily recognized minerals by the general public. Reputed to have strong therapeutic properties, Egyptians believed that wearing malachite in bands around the head and arms protected the wearer from the frequent cholera epidemics that ravaged Egypt -- since slaves who mined malachite were often unaffected by the plagues.
