  • Condition: The teapot is in GOOD ESTATE CONDITION CONSIDERING ITS AGE. There are two polishing marks on the cover ( see pictures), one small polishing mark on the back of the pot and loss like a thin outline around the edges of the spout, handle and flared top. If you don’t mind a few minor imperfections, it is still a very usable piece from the 1800’s being manufactured no more.

    Description

    We are offering for your consideration an antique, silver plated, Teapot manufactured by Meriden Britannia Company of Meriden, Connecticut.
    The piece is marked with an early pattern number, “1882.” The Teapot measures 9.75 inches tall and 8.50 inches wide from handle to spout. A design of various leaves and Cat o Nine Tails has been etched onto the front and back. A lined band encircles the piece at the bottom. A flared opening at the top houses a cover that is topped with a flower finial. A pedestal base and angular handles completes this older piece. There is a name, “Wilkins” in script on the front and the date, “1860.” One can just imagine the joy the individual or couple felt when they received such a lovely gift. The teapot is in
