    CHALCOPYRITE on QUARTZ with RHODOCHROSITE on PYRITE

    Size: 1 7/8" x 1 1/4" x 7/8".  This piece has a couple of bright gold chalcopyrite crystals sitting on prismatic milky to clear quartz crystals, with some "floss-ferri" type thin fine light pink rhodochrosite crystals on part of the quartz.  The matrix is massive pyrite and milky quartz. This specimen and the following pieces are out of a collection I just bought from a geologist who worked at the Sunnyside in the late 1980's.  The mine closed in 1989.
