    Description

    For auction is a rare copper Howell Steam Washer manufactured by DJH Davis and dated 1878. I call it rare because I have been unable to find a picture or description of it anywhere. It is obviously patterned after the regular copper boiler that was often used for laundering clothes. Davis added some bells and whistles and came up with the Howell Steam Cleaner. This machine is in pristine condition and is complete except for a tube inside the tub. I have no idea how it was used but it would make a heck of a display for a laundromat. It is 25 3/4" long without the handles, 14" wide at the top, and 15 3/4" tall. The top flares out making the width and length of the bottom slightly less.
