Description
This offering is for a fine American mid-19th century pewter teapot. Signed on the base J. Munson.John Munson is a listed American and highly regarded pewtersmith that was located in Yalesville, Connecticut in 1846 through1852.
This fine example measures approximately 8 1/2" tall and 10" wide from the tip of the spout to the outside edge of the handle. It has a deep rich and beautiful mellow patina overall as you will see. There are some small dents and age related scratches consistent with its age.
There is a small hole on the bottom part of the handle shown in picture. This does not interfere with the teapot's water holding capability.
