TEST S3 antigen test for the detection of intimate infections in men and women caused by Gardnerella vaginalis, Cancida albicans yeast and Trichomonas vaginalis protozoan. (test sc = self control)
In a healthy woman, lactobacilli bacteria (Lactobacillus) cause an acidic vaginal pH (the norm is 4.5). When the bacterium Gardnerella vaginalis comes into play, the vaginal pH changes and the secretion has a pH above 4.5. The first symptom is discharge with an unpleasant fishy smell.
It most often occurs in immunocompromised women with multiple sexual partners, and in swimming pools and jacuzzi. In men, the bacterium can cause non-gonococcal urethritis, prostatitis, and epididymitis.
Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted intimate infection caused by the protozoan - Trichomonas vaginalis. Trichomoniasis is a parasite of the genitourinary tract that infects only humans. In women, the protozoan lives in the vagina, urethra and bladder, in men it is usually in the urethra, but it can also spread to the prostate and seminal vesicles. It finds perfect conditions for development there (moisture and heat). Trichomoniasis infections are widespread in the human population around the world. They are often comorbid with other sexually transmitted diseases. They can also facilitate infection with other intimate infections.
Candida albicans, or yeast infection, is most often manifested by white, cheese-like vaginal discharge in women.
It is an in vitro diagnostic home test intended for self-testing.
The One-Step Test can be used by both women and men.
