    Description

The King and Lord of the vintage Ben Pearson bow line: The Golden Sovereign Series Lord Mercury. RH, 45#, 66", Serial # 1060 X60-389.
From the end of the era of big wood risers, this was one of the biggest. I think 1971-73, but I can't see a dark one like it in the old catalogs. Experts please comment on exact date or other info.
Riser has 8 laminations including 2 dark ones that could be Micarta or Ebony.  White glass with multiple laminations over front of riser. Old tape residue. Some scratches. A few very superficial dents. Glass has some tape residue, and a tiny sliver starting. I would sand it lightly and glue it. It's in one of the pictures near the label, but it's small.  Limbs are straight without twists. Pretty small tips for a bow this size. They are intact.  Has shock-absorbing internal capsules upper and lower riser. String included.
Despite being only on 'Good' condition, this is still a collector's piece due to it's pedigree and rarity.  Since it is not 'Excellent' condition, it's also a real shooter at an easy weight and length.
Follow me over the next year as I empty the basement and beneath the beds and my storage locker of much vintage archery stuff. I already have several on eBay.  Some also get listed on FB 'Everything Traditional.'
