Description

This is a beautiful copper coffee or tea pot. It is marked on the bottom “Silver on Copper” from the Sheridan Silver Co. Taunton MA. This copper pot has an urn finial on the hinged lid which looks like brass in contrast to the copper. The spout, handle and four little feet are of another metal that a magnet won’t stick to. I think it’s pewter. There is beautiful gadrooning around the shoulder of the pot. I bet this was a silver pot in the beginning and someone who was very artistic stripped the silver plate off. I have quite a few of these and they look so much better than scratched up silver plate. It is in excellent condition with no dents or breaks, only the patina of many years. It is a approx. 3.0lbs and 10.5” tall and 8.5” from spout to handle.
